Border Counties Steam & Country Show

The members of the Border Counties Vintage Club have confirmed that their 47th annual Steam & Country Show will return this year, down on Vauxhall Fields, Monmouth on the 4th & 5th May 2024.

There will be Novelty Dog Shows taking place on both days, with a range of classes for pooches & owners to take part in. Saturday’s show is being organised by Hope Rescue & Sunday’s show by Greyhound Rescue, Wales. All proceeds will be going towards their charities! Show organiser, Ian Harper says: “We hope that members of the public will continue to support us, as they have done in the past.”

At the show, we will have an array of vintage vehicles on display from all over the country, from Steam Engines & Stationary Engines through to Vintage Caravans & Classic Cars, there is something at the show for everyone. For the younger members of the public, there will be an interactive animal area & children’s entertainment.

There are a number of trade stalls which have booked to attend the show as well as the craft marquee, where local producers & crafters will be showcasing their products &/ creations. This is the perfect place to buy unique gifts for loved ones & support local businesses.

There will also be a 2-day car boot sale! To grab a bargain! For anyone wishing to participate in the car boot, please get in touch.

Once you have looked around the stalls, why not indulge yourself in the onsite catering & quench your thirst in the bar. Although, families are encouraged to bring picnics & enjoy a leisurely day at the fabulous location.

Other attractions throughout the weekend include displays of model collectables, tractors, motorbikes & commercials as well as a display from the Southwest RC Truckers! In the arena this year, Richard Heath Working dogs are putting on a display for the public, to show how his dogs can work alongside his feathered duck friends.

Mr Harper confirmed: “As well as the commercial benefits of bringing visitors into Monmouth, the show has raised a significant amount of money for local charities over the years.

The show is open from 10.00 am �" 5.00 pm on Saturday & Sunday and entry is £8 for adults, £7 for concessions, £4 children 10-16 & under 10 Free. Cash only.
